How could I have forgotten...? ESEE makes excellent fixed-blades... Very sturdy and hefty; but I don't think you'll get a spark with the powder-coated knives. A bit pricey, but worth it.
Spark? Spark for what....starting a fire? All my coated ESEE's work very well with a starter rod. Also most of their blades(3 and 4) can be had for under $100 and lifetime warranty!!!! So yes a bit pricey, but as you said totally worth it! I love Bechmade and Emerson for my pocket knives....all I carry. But for fixed blades I will never stray away from ESEE.

Check out Knipex Cobra and Cobra Wrench as they work really well and can cut down on the stuff you need to carry.
