Embedding Apple AirTag into keyless remote

We all bitch about the large size of the keyless remote, so maybe we put that to good use. Pre-orders start tomorrow, and I'll be first in line. I think it'd be awesome to embed one into our remotes.

As far as I can tell, both the remotes and the AirTags use 3v, but the remote battery is almost 3 times as large. The Airbag battery lasts about a year, so I don't think we'd see any material decrease in battery life. If I can tap the remote battery to parasitically draw from the AirTag and remove the need to have the AirTag outside shell, it might just fit somewhere in the remote.

Starting this thread to share my and hopefully others' experiences.

Hi, I'm wondering if there has been any progress on this. . . OR (even though it is large - don't yell at me), a key fob case which would also hold an airtag? Anyone???

Yea, that’s pretty cool. But way more electronics engineering then I have. Hoping someone come up with a kit to do it or a silicone cover that holds one on the fob…..

Does this take away the speaker?
If so I don’t get what this would help with.
