Help!
Hubby accidentally tried to shut the door before I had screwed the door bracket back in. Loud popping noise and then now the bracket is too short. We’ve tried to pull it out, no luck. It’s too short to screw into the bracket hole and force back out. I’m at a loss. Those 2 small screws are screwed in from the inside. Not sure I want to loosen those.
Any suggestions?

Not the first Jeeper to have this happen. Ones I read used channel locks and just had to really pull hard to pop back out.

I tried wrenching it out myself with a screw driver but I wasn’t strong enough.
A wonderful person on the 392 facebook group posted a link. It worked with zero muscle needed. I can’t believe how easy it was.

super easy. you can move the small part where the bolt is. what i do is almost fully shut the door and get the screw to catch a couple threads. then i open the door. its a bit tight for big fingers but its not to bad. actually just did this a week ago LOL

That works if it only went one click in. But mine went 2 clicks in and then it was too short to screw in at all (well I might have big girl fingers lol). The link above worked great. Hopefully next time I’ll realize what it is before two clicks ?

I was going to say, it might be costly to exchange hubby for a smarter model. Glad you got it fixed!

Yeah, I’m pretty sure this is going to happen to me about a dozen more times. Glad I found a simple solution.
(and in my hubby’s defense, I did kinda “grunt” when he asked if it was ok to go ahead and shut the door ?)
