I know there’s quite a few post on this issue; but never saw one addressing the issue that I discovered on mine. So I thought I’d share it.

I bought this soft top Jeep end of January. Sometime in April I started getting a lot of wind noise mostly around the passenger door & a little on the drivers. Beginning of May the passenger side soft top latch popped loose!
I tightened the latches & some of the wind noise went away; but I still had a lot of it. I think as the temperatures started warming up was a contributing factor in all of this.
So I continued to unsuccessfully hunt for the issue. Yesterday, I discovered the previous owner incorrectly reinstalled the plastic overhead door surround after putting the top back on. The corner gaskets were trapped underneath. This morning commute was back to normal soft top noise. What a relief…

Double check that you don't have a crack in the latch that popped open. When mine popped loose, the latch had cracked but not fully come apart. It would still latch, but not tightly. The replacement latch I ordered had an updated design that was a little stronger.

OK thanks - I’ll check. Both of my latches get tight now; but I definitely don’t need another surprise!

I hope you don't need one. they are expensive for what they are. IIRC $150 or so MSRP.
The crack in mine was near the screws that mount the latch to the top. One screw was no longer holding the latch on and with the other, the little bit of plastic still attached to the top would allow it to flex.

Ok that’s good to know.
