Interesting, I see the same thing in our manuals.

Looked at allmoparparts.com
It does appear they are different.
Diesel is the nvg241 part # 68298655ac and seems to be specifically for the German made 8HP75

The 2.0, 3.6 whether eTorque or not, have an mp1622c part# 68240445ac made to mate up to an 850RE.

Just out of curiosity I looked up the transfer case for a 2021 Wrangler 392. It is also different and shared with the 4xe.
Those take an mp3022 part # 68395037ac but it says it will work with either the 8HP75 or an 8P75PH PHEV Transmission…

You got me what the differences are though.

That’s odd because the 392 is a full time 4wd with selectable low range and the 4xe has the Select-Trac 242 type t-case that offers PT and FT 4hi. Wish we had that available with the Diesel. My GDE tune removes the torque limiter and if I don’t put it in 4hi when i want to launch it, it will spin a 37 with the open rear diff and I had to replace one at 36k….

Right I was expecting the 392 to be different because they're all full time 4wd but ???
It's also very possible I misunderstood what I was reading.

Is it bigger and better than the one in the gassers?

Why is our recommended maintenance for transfer fluid change 60,000 mi higher than what's recommended for the gassers?

Hmmm must be the extra torque from the motor? Interesting.....

According to this website selling the part for the 392/4xE...

Not compatible with the EcoDiesel. In reality it might actually be compatible, just not listed as such through Mopar. I mean, I can't tell you how many JK parts I found that work just fine on the JL's, but they don't tell you that, and don't even get me started on all of the likenesses between the second gen and the third gen EcoDiesels. They make you want to think they're completely different engines, even though they have more in common than they don't.

That's the only thing I could think of. That with all that extra torque. Maybe they had to put beefier internals into the transfer case so that it doesn't start shredding gears when you're in four high. ?

Your transfer case had to be replaced?
I have developed a driveline clunk recently and wonder if it is my t-case... My 40s spin way to easy with the rear diff open.

No, I still have the original factory transfer case on my '21 Willys Sport EcoDiesel.

I was talking with a friend about changing the Transfer case fluid. He happens to have a 3.6L, and I have a EcoDiesel (obviously). He was telling me how he replaced his transfer case fluid at 5,000 mi, and how I should probably check mine now that I'm at 35,000 mi.

So as I started doing a little bit of research into it, cuz I've never done a transfer case fluid change before, that's when I realized the difference in mileage recommendations per the manufacturer.

I actually use my transfer case a fair amount, not so much for off-roading, at least not as hardcore for it as some of the people on here do. But I probably say I switch into four high at least once a month minimum. If not more.

I'll be doing my transfer case oil change two weekends from now. Should be interesting to see how dirty it is.

It's just interesting to see how the manufacturer feels about how often and we should be changing our oils. I mean the whole idea of a lifetime oil in the transmission, kind of makes you question everything FCA does. ? :movember:

No. The stock transmission programming limits the torque in the first 5 gears. GDE removes that with the tune. Now I’m making about 550 ft lbs at the crank and if I yank on it in first gear in 2hi, it’ll spin the left rear In first. I had to replace one tire at 36k.

Yeah I think my stage 1 tune gave me, I believe it was 80wtq supposedly, which would bring me up to like 500 torque I think. I've never actually measured it.

I know for sure I can spin the rears if I want to, I'm just usually pretty aware of my driving habits. Unless I had some old crappy wheels that I kept specifically for burnouts, I'm not about to ruin my wheels early because I want to spin them.

That being said, dirt/gravel roads and drifting is my tires current nemesis. It's hard to not fishtail around corners when I can. It's such a fun activity.

Plus now that I'm running HT tires, it's so much easier to get them to spin.

Just wait till I get my stage 1+ tune which supposedly is supposed to give 140wtq.
