I just got my new 2026 Moab 392. Installed nolimitz and turned off MDS (drone), and turned on sport mode. It now drives and sounds like a 6.4 V8 should!

Sport mode is a nice feature. Doesn't seem to change shift points just throttle response I think. I can still go into off road+ for that which is fun but I don't think I would like it 100% full time.

Not concerned about warranty. Very easy to remove before going in for service.

I have had many Jeeps. This is the best by far.
Dealers vary, but I don’t I remove it. They installed it along with replacing the 21 PCM with a 22 PCM at no charge ā€œbefore you do something desperateā€ to disable MDS. (like a tune voiding the warranty )

Yeah - I am not really worried but it is so easy to disactivate and remove I will do it to not take a chance

Yeah, @2nd 392 "strong-armed" me into buying the NoLimitz as well, and I'm glad he did. Regarding the NoLimitz vs warranty work, I have a few thoughts:
  • With all of the features disabled, which supposed leaves the device undetectable (but still visably discoverable), who is to say that you aren't using the NoLimitz as a security measure (RF Hub Block and Tamper Detection) for your expensive Jeep, and that's the lone feature used.
  • With regard to "visible discovery", one might simply choose to remove the device itself and reestablish the canbus connections behind the glovebox, but leave the cable running behind the HVAC in place. That is likely the route I'll go. Why would they ever remove the dash on a fishing expedition? BTW, I try to be an honest owner, but since OR+ is a factory feature that also disables the MDS, it would be unfair of them to deny warranty for the NoLimitz. Every once in a while, I tend to reactivate MDS for a time to leave bread crumbs indicating its use.

After install my great (no longer there šŸ™) service rep checked it for ā€œcan’t be detected by dealer toolsā€ . Neither it nor the Banks PM were detected by codes or even footprints. I turned it on and left it on, except for the one time the dealer turned it off, I immediately turned it back on.

OR+ did not disable on my pre XR 21. Flash attempts failed, therefore the 22 pcm. …. Anyway, MDS disabled on my GC in Sport/Track/Tow/ and likely Snow mode too, but haven’t tried. Son’s Scat Pack similar, PU’s in at least Tow. Don’t over think and fret dealer visits. 😊 šŸ’Ŗ 🤣

Congrats!
Thanks for the write up!
Wise choice getting and enjoying the Moab now, rather than us fools waiting around in the Willys 392 order thread. It'll be Fall before these are delivered!

This what I plan to do. Just take out the nolimitz and keep the cable installed.

Have you tried sport mode? I like it and then you can always still turn on off road+ for extra sport.
