This! This is the only rain we have here. Since I am originally from the Chicago area, I thought that anything is better than that midwest mushy snowy windy rain lol.

You should come out to Arizona and see how your Jeep looks after the monsoon rain.....a giant cloud of dust called a Haboob always starts off the storm, then the rain that follows just leaves the dirt and dust EVERYWHERE on any kind of vehicle.
It rained mud here in Kansas City a week ago. Unfortunately that same storm caused a 77 vehicle pile-up and several deaths on I-70 in western Kansas.I remember acid rain. I remember Purple Rain. I even remember Chubby Rain. (I was basically obsessed with that last one for a while.)
But, this year we have had snow which fell overnight, melted, and left behind dust. Last night we had rain which a local meteorologist forecasted would bring dust, and it did! Was this always a thing? In which parts of the world/country? Why do I have no memories of dusty rain until this year? I know old jokes/Murphy's law about it raining after you wash your car, but I don't remember the massive lines at car washes immediately following a snowfall or rainfall, and that's what I'm seeing now.
(Currently in Pittsburgh. Was told via the same meteorologist mentioned above this dust is from "the midwest.)
