drop windshield to run wiring?

I'm mounting a CB overhead on a RAM mount (pax side freedom top CMMG RAM screw mount), power coming from the 10A direct to battery in the pax footwell (oem aux wiring) on a 23 Rubi 4xe. I figure I'll ground to dash behind that side panel above the door plug cover (as mentioned in the Aux switch wiring thread).
If I tilt out the windshield, will that make my power wiring alot easier or should I just tuck in/around?

Might as well, it’s so easy to do and will make it easier to tuck cleanly around the bottom corners that can be hard to reach. Just a torx bit (comes in the stock tool kit) in four places, all easy to reach

Note that to fold the windshield all the way flat, you need to remove the wiper arms which might require a small puller tool to do cleanly without scuffing up the arms. But you don’t need to fold it down flat just to run a bit of wiring - fold the arms out like you’re washing the window, and just tilt the window vertical (hold it so it doesn’t drop) and you’ll still have a lot more room to get the wiring in

I have my V/U faceplate up there and have dropped the window a few times to make wiring changes.

I routed the switch wire for my KC driving lights between windshield frame and body, dropping the windshield made it trivial. Do get the special tool for removing wipers--easy with, impossible without.

I have a 23 Rubicon 4xe as well. I ran my wiring inside the windshield trim and then down the a-piller into the passenger kick panel. If you can lift the windshield and that's what you prefer, I'd say go ahead. For me, I wanted everything inside. It took me a bit to figure out how to pull off all the panels but now that I've done it, it's reasonably easy and I would do it again.

Thanks for all the comments, I tilted the windhshield and ran split tube down that chasm in the corner to get into the pax footwell for power and ground, install came out great. Went with a neat 2' blue firestik on a 3" black spring on a teraflex tailgate mount, came out great.

soak it with penetrant oil they come right off by hand. pop the cap remove the nut and some WD40 and giggle it off.

Yep I keep one of those $5-10 pullers in the jeep. When I want to drop the window, I’m likely nowhere near an auto parts store lol

Just routed Redarc blue and black wires between windshield frame and body on passenger side. Found 47 cents in coin when I dropped the windshield!
