Recently when my JL is about to stop I can hear knocking sounds from rear area, sometimes it sounds like rubbing more than knocking. It happens more in the morning on fine roads, the sound is not rotational so I don't think it's the Dana 44 knocking issue. Sometimes I can also hear rubbing noise from the drivetrain when the car is coasting at very low speed (< 5mph). I had dealer tech riding with me and of course he said no issue, he said the rubbing noise is tire noise and the brake noise is too weak for him to diagnose, so he just did oil change and tire rotation. I doubt it's tire noise as it sounds more like from metal parts, but this morning I feel the braking noise has moved to front wheels... I would like to learn if any of you has experienced that. Thanks!

I have this issue too, the knocking sounds comes usually after going off-road or doing things thats heats up the engine. Have you known the cause by now?

Mine was due to bad front shock. I didn’t realize it’s the shock until I jump out of the car one day and hear the rubbing noise. Drive your JL for ~15 min so that the shocks are warm, then find a quiet place to park your car and shut the engine off, now shake your JL yourself or have some one do it from outside, do not apply brake or E-brake, you will hear the noise if your shocks are bad, then you can visit the dealership and show them the noise. Hopefully this can help you a bit, the noise is totally gone after the shocks were replaced. BTW, I waited 3 month for the pair of shock.
