Drivability in OR+

You just confirmed my suspicions that it jumps into 4cyl quicker. The opposite of what I hoped, my GCSRT disables it in Sport and Track mode ?. I tap it into manual shift after reaching cruising speed to minimize.

I have a 2023 XR. When I run in OffRoad+ it completely locks out/ disables 4cyl mode.

If mine did I would always run it. I haven’t figured out yet for sure which do or don’t disable, but those saying it does appear to be XR’s although reports from 23 non XR would help verify. Alas- my 21 pre XR doesn’t, even after what Jeep called an “XR recalibration” . If I could nail it down I might have a chance of getting the right calibration with correct knowledge for the explanation. ?

Yeah its a little jerky for town use... 3.73s here. Also mine jumps into 4cyl mode quicker in OR+, annoying. I leave it off unless I'm playing around here.

Same here. 2022 also.

I have a 22 delivered to a dealer in VA and it never goes into 4-cyl mode with OR+ enabled (goes into it pretty often when OR+ is not enabled).

A 23 XR owner just reported his does disable MDS in OR+. Making 4- 22’s, 2- 23’s and a 24 that do disable. Only Hpc3’s non XR (year unknown, please give year), and my 21 pre XR don’t. firedude and ek1 please report if XR or not. If just XR’s disable, or just 21’s don’t Hpc3 and I may be able to get an XR or 22 controller that will disable. I will find out when this information is completed. All reports of year, XR or not, and MDS disable in OR+ or not greatly appreciated. Thanks for the help to eliminate the menace.

I think it’s important that people are also referring to the screen on the dash to confirm whether it disables or not (not just the sound).

Maybe this is a stupid question…. How can you tell it’s in 4cyl mode? Only 370 miles on my ’24 but it seems seamless to me and I don’t feel or hear anything cruising around

11/21 XR - offroad+ turns off 4 cyl mode. Verified by the screen.

Maybe this is a stupid question…. How can you tell it’s in 4cyl mode? Only 370 miles on my ’24 but it seems seamless to me and I don’t feel or hear anything cruising around

A small 4cyl on the fuel economy screen. In “Loud” it sounds like it’s shittin’ it’s britches when it activates, can’t hear it in “quiet” with stock exhaust. I now can with AWE exhaust.

We now have @dalema reporting his 21 XR disables in OR+, and @firedude reporting XR. Out of 9 our 21 pre XR’s are the only ones that don’t disable. XR Confirmed IMO, I will check next week and see if an XR controller is possible. I’m keeping it forever, damn the one time cost if Jeep will do it- cheaper than lifters anyway.

Maybe it's something we can have coded? Was playing around today and love the 6K shift farts in 1st and 2nd in OR+. Goes right back to 4cyl mode as soon as I put it back in Auto shift mode. Frustrating.

“Updated vehicles sales code to the recon package” — Nope Tried that already, extremely disappointed. Now what- if they will even replace the controller with an XR one, at high cost, there is no guarantee, but I am low on straws to grasp. ? More Straws welcomed, if you find one that works please inform immediately, I will do the same.

I'm going to put a call into Livernois after the Hollidays to ask if this is something they've noticed in their coding. I want to disable my MDS permanently when I get close to my warranty ending (maybe headers and a couple other tweaks too) and curious if they've seen anything in their work. They did note a substantial rework by FCA on the XR programming... will plan on running that flash at some point unless I can find a local tuner in here that knows these Jeeps.

I'd go ahead and start playing if I could convert the 392 into pure "toy" status but I sold my WK2 to my son and need it for car/daily use some right now. Its so good stock I'm afraid of messing that up with it serving family duty today.

Thanks! I see now and hear it now that I’m listening for it. I put my 2024 into OR+ and it went away.
im probably going to get a Tazer to just disable it and for other things it does. Thanks!

If a Tazer disabled MDS we would not be having this conversation longer than to say it does, Sorry. Mine doesn’t disable period, except for manual shift. Be grateful for the blessing that yours does at least in OR+ from the performance gods
