I'm going to hold out for Jeep to put it in the friggin' screens. We shouldn't have another thing on the dash with a wire running to it. This isn't hard to do FCA.

I understand and completely agree
But for the time being I’d like to have something if jeep eventually adds it I will just resell the tool or keep it

I use an iDash by Banks. It can clear codes (haven't used this feature yet), but I find it super helpful for monitoring temps and when a regen will happen and is happening. I am monitoring 8 items on a small 2in gauge up in the corner of my windshield. Easy to see and never in my way. I did a write up on the gauge pod install.

Items monitoring from top left to top right and down. Trans Temp, Oil Temp, Engine Load %, Coolant Temp, Batt V, DEF Tank Level, Regen Status, DPF Soot Level

Your sentiment is understandable, but why forego monitoring your new engine based on principal? For one thing, even if Jeep put's it on the friggin' screens, yours still won't have it. Bite the bullet - you won't be sorry.

Yeah, I agree and wish they would too, but I'm more concerned with understanding what my engine is doing. I don't like having gadgets in there myself either, it seems like I should just put a sign on the dash that says "steal my electric things."

I just don't like the look of more junk on the inside.

And I don't care about knowing when it wants to regen. I drive enough that it will take care of itself.

If all of us had that sentiment, we wouldn't be suffering from regen-anxiety. :)

[But...I suspect you are in the minority]

I barely put any miles on my car. But at the same time, every few weeks, I have quite a long drive. I put 7K miles on my car most years. But a lot come in 60-300 mile bursts.

It's kind of a shame you don't have a ScanGauge then as I'm curious how often it would clean itself out on that schedule! =) Weeks where it's all in town short trips, I find it happens every 225 miles or so. Conversely, about half of my 6500 miles (in four months) are road trip miles, and in that case, I get about 820 between.

In all honesty, I'm probably paying closer attention than I need to, but I find that aspect of of kind of "entertaining", if that makes sense.

It makes sense. I’d love to know too because I’m curious. Jeep can add it in a software update any time.

I know that you are adverse to sticking to your dash but these peel right off without leaving a mark yet still keep the Scangauge secure. Over a year without budging at all. Much cleaner look than windshield mounts. See post#9

Thanks I’m gonna order some and try it out, the Scangauge comes with Velcro adhesives to use but I don’t know with the Sun heat from windshield etc how they would do after a year or so, trying taking them off after idk ?‍♂ I worry too much about later on issues lol ?
