Loaner vehicles are generally a function of the dealership. The 2 Jeep dealerships my wife and I purchased our Jeeps from provide loaners if you schedule an appointment and reserve one in advance.
You are wrong as far as how the industry does this.

The reason Hyundai, Volvo, Lexus have loaners is because the MANUFACTURER incents dealers to put cars into a loaner fleet. They rebate them a few thousand off any car put into the fleet. The dealer is allowed to flip the loaner every X months or Y miles and put a new car into the fleet with the same rebate. Lexus also mandates that every service customer gets a loaner if they want one.

Jeep offers NOTHING to their dealers.

So you are right that it falls on the dealers to decide how to do this.

This puts the fault squarely on Jeep. The manufacturer, who is trying to sell expensive vehicles with no program to incent dealers to build and maintain a loaner fleet.

Maybe ask the dealer if you can “borrow” an alternator from one of the other Jeeps on their lot? I’m sure they’ll do that to help you out.
They are “deal-ers” after all, right?
