Rear Main Seal backordered??

Just bought my wife a used 2020 Wrangler JLU with 7K miles, not even 2 days in the driveway I noticed an oil leak coming from the back past the oil pan. So, took it back to the dealership told me it was rear main seal issue and it's been there going 2 weeks now. All they can tell me is that the part is in back ordered. Is this a common issue with the 2020 JLU that's why parts are so scarce?

I just had mine done about two weeks ago on my 2018 3.6L. it wasn't backordered then.

I asked the local service parts guy earlier today. He said that they are seeing a lot of rear main seal failures in the 3.6L built in 2020 and this has led to a back order situation.

He said they are doing 6 to 8 replacements a month!!

Strangely the 2018/2019 doesn't seem to have the same situation.

Did the seal p/n change in 2020 as perhaps they designed something better and that didn't work out as planned.

Now going 3 weeks and still dealer is telling us that the part is in backorder. This really sucks almost a month now since when we purchased the Jeep and only sat in our driveway for 2 days. Any advice maybe we can return the Jeep? is that even possible we bought it used with 7k on it?

Look up the lemon laws in your state, they usually apply to used vehicles as well.
