I've heard of this double clutch before, mostly in movies. I've never actually tried it myself but it is very interesting.

When you get it right on a non-synchro gear...its a very sweet experience.

I dont consider it work. If I did, I would buy an auto
It is literally extra work on top of what you already are doing just to make you feel good.

Yea people to silly shit to make themselves feel better all the time. Ive never said to not do it just that its unnecessary due to having synchros and extra steps.

Not in the circumstance I described in the initial post starting this thread. Maybe it's the 90K on my transmission, maybe it's the speed of my foot work, maybe something else. Regardless, thanks for your perspective, which I think is good for most shifting situations.

When I got my Jeep back in 2022 I was double clutching as I heard it was easier on the trans. As Time went on I started to have issues getting it into 1st gear and at 20,000 miles was having major issues getting into 1st gear all other shifts were fine. Had the recall done and shifted great for the first 10,000 miles and now back to having difficulty going into to first from a dead stop. Not sure if double clutching created more pressure on the slave cylinder but if your Jeep shifts fine I would try and be easy on the amount of times you use the clutch.

Oh man, you know it. The first time I did it right, the timing of everything was so good that the shifter felt like it fell out of one gear, and just dropped into the next. I barely put any effort into moving it at all. I still remember how it felt, and that was 30+ years ago!
