Door wiring harness

I want to change my front right lower plastic trim out.
That piece contains the door for the wiring harness. After separating wiring harness that connects to the door it looks like the other part of harness is clipped onto the trim. Hard to tell but appears to be a Xmas tree fastener holding it? Anyone ever remove this? Need to get that off to swap the trim out. Thx!!!

Can't understand which part you are talking about. How about a picture.

If you are talking about the body side of the door connector it is easy to release from the clip. From the bottom side the release is between the connector and the body. Use a tool (screwdriver or something similar) and press the tab towards the body and away from the connector and pull down on the connector. Circled in yellow in this picture.
