Question for those of you who have or have had Wranglers in the past: where do you stash your doors so they don’t get damaged? Is it “good enough” to just lean them against a garage wall, or do you wrap them in moving blankets or somehow hang them?

My biggest worry is wife or kids scraping past with groceries, bikes, whatever. Maybe basement is a better place than garage for that reason...

Jeep Wrangler JL Door storage ideas? IMG_0353

I have been looking into this myself for when mine arrives. Quick google image search came up with this - which seems like the way to go.

I like this idea. Now I have something to do while I wait.

Long ago we made a padded door caddy on casters to roll around out of the way. Covered with a padded moving blanket for added protection.

National Hardware makes gate hinge straps that will accept the door hinge pins. I store mine hanging on the hinges.

That's exactly what I did for my JK - worked like a charm, and pretty cheap too. Dang, those are the exact same brackets I used too...

@ACE Engineering has mounts for the JK/JL that hold the doors by the hinges on their website.

:cwl::cwl: It truly is blasphemy in opinion. I'm all for the "It's just a Jeep" mentality. Except when it comes to potentially rusting.

JL doors are aluminum, though? So I guess the future heathens putting theirs on bare concrete are lucky enough to never worry about rust.
Just the inner panels are aluminum. The outer skins and window frames are steel.

Rubber coated bicycle hooks are cheap and readily available at Wal-Mart and most home stores. Just make sure you go in the studs.

I have a cart made from a Harbor Freight dolly and a few pieces of pipe in the middle as a separator.

Other than that I leave them on the side of my house when going door less.

I hang my full doors on the J hangers like above from Lowe's. They're only like $7 each.

Any concern about damaging the window rubber flanges around the windows?
