your experience with owning an EV and what it actually entails are two separate things.

im talking about the actual effect on society whereas you are viewing it from your own personal experience.

"My statement about being a hostage to oil companies is that without EV's we don't have choice."

even with EVs you dont have a choice. what part of how energy is generated do you not understand?
Shoot, man, I thought we were being serious. I won’t make that mistake again.

Here you go. I'm not posting this as proof of anything. I think it's important that this energy equation is continually studied, and that claims are repeated methodically over and over. This is yet another study referenced in the article which shows that over a vehicle's lifetime, an EV is cleaner than ICE.

4xe geeks....there's good stuff in here for you, too.

https://www.thedrive.com/news/new-study-proves-evs-are-always-cleaner-than-gas-cars

Link to the actual study:
https://pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs.est.5c05406

University of Michigan press release:
https://news.umich.edu/evs-reduce-climate-pollution-but-by-how-much-new-u-m-research-has-the-answer/

But remember...I have an EV for fun. Even if a study was published today, which claimed the exact opposite, I will likely replace this EV with another EV when it comes time. EV's, particularly our BMW iX, are that good.
Thanks so much for this info! Electricity is expensive where I live, so I didn't buy my 4xe to save money. I bought my 4xe to do my miniscule part in keeping the air clean. It's good to see that I wasn't as delusional as some thought I was.

And Uncle Sam tossed railways out and subsidized cars in the 1950s. That's the nature of things. The US used to have the most well developed rail system in the world, but the big 3 needed a better share prices so out the window. China couldn't compete on ICE so they aggressively developed their EV capabilities. Nobody is objective about any in how they think through any of this though.
chyna went EV to save the fossil fuels for industrial use, chyna have a voracious appetite for fossil crude, and they have to import almost all of it.

And a major benefit of EVs for them is to control and surveillance of the people.

Meanwhile they are telling the world stop using fossil fuels šŸ˜‚

You should be old enough to know a lot of this is propaganda masquerading as science, especially when it's literally a licensed to print money out of thin air.

The whole carbon credit economy is one big scam, make EVs and sell the "clean air" they will create for billions šŸ˜‚

There’s real science there.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a new economic opportunity to seize as well. If you’re smart, you’ve placed your chips accordingly and should have pocketed some impressive gains over the last several years.

When it comes to the climate, it's always junk science masquerading as "real science"

Let's see chyna imports a massive 66% of crude for it's consumption, but imports a miniscule less than 1% of coal for it's coal consumption

chyna also ramped up it's coal consumption over the years for electricity generation, coal makes up the bulk of chyna electricity generation.

chyna reliance on crude imports is a serious national security problem, and economic drain

chyna have no control of the global oil supply, but complete control of the coal supply

Lastly it's also dirt cheap for chyna to manipulate the Western masses with "real science", because climate hysteria has become the dominant religion of the West.

China continues to lead the world with deployment of low carbon energy production as well. It's almost like China is strategically using its national coal reserves to get farther ahead in its industrial revolution and building out rural infrastructure while simultaneously incorporating cleaner sources.

They will surpass the West in almost every conceivable category in the next 100 years for one reason: They educate their poor people.

Okay, certainly we can all agree that it obvious that someone relies strictly on science and not allow passion or prejudice to influence their opinions when they habitually use "chyna" instead of China. Right?

They have no choice, they need the little oil they can muster up around the world for military use, transportation is the largest drain on the oil they are forced to import.

It's almost like America and Canada are not strategically not using their national natural resources to get farther behind šŸ‘€

and of course they will get ahead, have you seen the šŸ’© the West have been teaching us for the last few decades?

It's very strange that a gas guzzling Wrangler owner like yourself find it romantic chyna is using massive amounts of coal šŸ˜‚

It’s nothing new. The petulance and conspiracies are persistent, even in threads which have nothing to do with climate change or climate policy, it continually gets brought up. Reeks of paid campaign from a foreign influence.

I love my JLUR 4xe when it’s got a charge. I wouldn’t recommend one if you don’t plan to charge it or frequently. On 35s in my 4xe I have driven a lot of Moab and the Rubicon. I have only been stranded when the 12v battery died at a gas station.
