As I just mentioned in the previous response, i am hoping I can make the arrangement that the caster should actually be 6.5 degrees, and not their specified range. My guess is their “specified range” is for stock 33” tires. Which,,, they should have known better??

Don’t know which alignment shop your using , but unless they are an off-road specific shop, they won’t know any better.

I have a rear track bar relocation bracket I haven’t installed yet. I haven’t had the time to get the Jeep jacked up and blocked accordingly. It was originally my understanding all it would do is recenter the axle (right to left). However, I also read it may improve the rise as well. If I had thought about it before hand, I would have asked the shop to toss it in there while they were tightening and doing the alignment.

If I have to have them adjust the front control arms, in order to get the caster to 6.5, maybe I will bring the bracket in at the same time. They should do the control arms for free, if that number is what it should be at. Not sure if I have the ability to argue, if their “specified range” is 4-5.8 degrees though.
You’ll need to pay them. The shop wouldn’t adjust them outside of specification without you asking them to do so.

It most likely depends on who did the lift and alignment. If it was dealership then probably not unless you told them to. If it was a reputable 4x4 shop, then they would know to adjust it to center the axle. And they would have told you there’s no need for alignment for the Mopar lift. There’s nothing to adjust with that kit , all they did was remove and replace. But that’s if it was a reputable 4x4 shop.
Question. If a Jeep is going from stock 33's to bigger 35's and adding Mopar lift at the same time wouldn't you need alignment plus realign the Steering wheel?

When I took my Sahara in to remove the stock tires 255/70/18 and put BFG KO2 275/70/18 33's and put Tearflex 1.5 spacer kit on at the same time my friend at 4 Wheel parts recommended alignment and needed to realign the steering wheel. The alignment was free since I had a coupon for that.

They gave me the Sheet and I could see the adjustments.

There’s nothing To adjust. Literally all they can do is red-center your steering wheel, which anyone can do at home in 5 minutes.

Ok, thanks. That explains why my Rubicon drove straight as arrow with no steering issues at all the 2 weeks I drove it stock waiting on backorder wheels. When all the installs were done it still drives straight as an arrow with no steering issues at all.

What word302 said.....Yeah, honestly there’s nothing adjustable with the Mopar lift. It doesn’t have adjustable control arms, it doesn’t come with adjustable track bars, etc. your just removing and replacing springs , shocks and sway bar links. The only adjustable thing is toe. And unless they adjusted your toe, then there wouldn’t be any reason to straighten the steering wheel. The only time I’ll get an alignment is when I’m doing a complete lift, that’s both track bars, and all eight control arms. Just to see how I’m doing with thrust angle, and I like to see the caster read out on paper, makes customers at ease.....

You’ll actually get even better handling with some longer/adjustable LCAs and front and rear assistance track bars. Your caster is most likely way low and your axle are not centered. I’d also add the RK spring isolators as the ones that come with the mopar kit suck.

I know the tech did whatever was needed for it. The installs were all part of the sale contract and I just drove Jeep out of the service center. No service center paperwork. The Service Manager just waved me on. I know I am happy with the way it drives and no steering issues I read on the forum.

Wouldn't the Jeep have steering issues? I can drive on our tollway here 75 mph and take my hands off the steering wheel and the Jeep stays in lane until the road crown might change.

Same in city driving 30, 40, 50, mph. No steering pull at all. That was the first thing I checked.
