DIY 3rd brakelight relocation.

I am a brand new welder. This is the 1st thing I've made.

I'm open to feedback!

I was looking for a Brake light relocation kit and was kind of surprised at either pricing or branding. So wanted to come up with something simple and effective.This is what I came up with.

I can't quite picture it on your last photo (the rear wheel). Not close enough. Does it go through one of the spare tire bolts/lugs? That's how my factory one came in my '17 JK that had a similar relocation to the tire bracket.

I am envious of your developing welding skills! That opens up a whole big world of DIY. You are right, what they are charging out there for brackets and such is outrageous!

My father in-law could weld. He used to build his own (custom) trailers and saved a ton of money on repairs as well.

It is a kmc wheel that has a ring around the center. I am using one of those bolts in the ring to hold the bracket.
