Hello All,
Several months agon I bought a used 2021 JLU Sport S with an EcoDIesel. I got it from a non Jeep dealer with a lift and tires installed. There was also a Tazer mini installed. I did not think anything of it as all current recalls were up to date and the vehicle history was not extensive and well catalogued.
I mention all this as to context for my most recent discovery, a disconnected cable under the steering column. I don't have a camera small enough to fit under there but i was able to get in image from head on.

This would be from looking straight toward the front of the vehicle.

Its kind of far back, but tied into another part of the wiring.

I've felt around the area since there is no slack on the cord so the plug would have to be nearby. It might fit into the back of the black box piece but I didnt feel any socket for the plug.

The Jeep has been running fine without this plugged in, but i have no idea what it goes to.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like it may have a factory cap snapped over the connector? Possibly for an option that you don't have on your Jeep?

If you disconnect the cables from the Tazer does one of them mesh with your dangling cable?

I'm wondering if it's just an extension. If so there should be a second one there somewhere.

We can rule out the auto climate sensor wiring that some Sports come with.
I checked my pictures and it’s not the same at all.

I think @Ratbert is on to something.

Could it be the connector for the integrated or aftermarket trailer brake controller?

I was not able to see any other dangling cables. When removing the tazer, the cables would reach to it however, they also still have connection points in the security module.
This extra is connected to the "main" cords that go to the black box under the steering wheel

Any chance you can take that white cap off and get another picture of it from the front?

Like I mentioned above, I looked up my picture of the auto climate control temperature sensor wire and it didn’t appear to be the same. Now I’m second guessing myself.
Mine is an ā€˜18 and they do make changes from year to year that a lot of us aren’t aware of until you start pulling things apart and making comparisons.

Here’s the picture I have of the ATC wire for reference.

Typically the Alpine amp, the module for the heated seats and the inverter are located below the steering column. If your trim doesn't have those items, it could simply be left unplugged.

Now that I have a better chance to see it, it looks like it is capped.
Any idea what this would go to?
