Oh he already regrets it, which is why he made a video, to try and convince HIMSELF that he was right... While being broken and crying inside lolThe Willys guy? :cwl: you know he's going to regret it sooner than later if he's not already. He's probably already looking into a trade in
Agree wholeheartedly. No you don’t. Because those vehicles are really $70-80K vehicles if you value the features that make a Wrangler $50-60K to begin with.
Also, whether the perceived competition were those options or going with a lower price variant replacing a VW instead of the Audi, they aren’t competition when they aren’t convertible, and more importantly aren’t a Wrangler.
Equatting it just based on price is a fallacy that makes a $50-60K 15-passenger crew van the same market as a Corvette, the Mercedes or a John Deere 5-6 series tractor because they have the same sticker price at some point.
$60K? I have a Rubicon with just about every option available and with my military discount, Tread Lightly, and some minor (very minor) negotiations, it came in at just under $49...Now, if you'd have said $50K, well, maybe I'd agree.Time will tell, but no one here ever imagined that the Wrangler would cost $60k. No one.
As someone coming from similar vehicles, I think it's a fairly different category. Not that people aren't cross shopping a wrangler with something less jeepy. The Q5 you can get in that range, but the others not so much or stripped down. Who knows.I think you guys are missing the point. Once you start pricing a vehicle between $50-60K you start comparing it to high end cars like Q5, X5, Range Rover, Volvo and Mercedes Benz.
With that being said, I WANT ONE, but not sure I will get all the bells and whistles.
It may have been priced higher than you wanted to pay for it, or you thought was reasonable, but its sales success & leadership means it wasn’t overpriced.
I have to disagree here...I think you guys are missing the point. Once you start pricing a vehicle between $50-60K you start comparing it to high end cars like Q5, X5, Range Rover, Volvo and Mercedes Benz.

I never did, that's for sure. The price of ALL vehicles have gone up drastically the last few years. The thing that gets me is that if you try to sell a vehicle, we all know it'll show some sort of depreciation, if you trade it in the dealer goes by the "black book" value. Banks like to use the NADA, and we're stuck looking at Kelly Blue Book to try and sell. Bottom line is, WE get screwed.Time will tell, but no one here ever imagined that the Wrangler would cost $60k. No one.
I did..., and I think anyone realistically planning on a diesel Rubicon with every option definitely has that price in their possible range.Time will tell, but no one here ever imagined that the Wrangler would cost $60k. No one.
If you add diesel and power top, it will be closer to $60k.$60K? I have a Rubicon with just about every option available and with my military discount, Tread Lightly, and some minor (very minor) negotiations, it came in at just under $49...Now, if you'd have said $50K, well, maybe I'd agree.
I'm sorry but if you add every high priced option on any vehicle that options them the price is going to be high lol its just logic bra. i just ordered a JLU for 34k otd that had everything i wanted and well equipped. you don't need what you don't have because you'll never miss it bra.If you add diesel and power top, it will be closer to $60k.
And, if I add the LS3 engine swap, it would be even more. So, what you're saying is that if it is optioned to the hilt, it's more than $60K? I believe it...doesn't make all JLU's more than $60K. If you want the options, you have to pay for 'em...with any vehicle. Hell, I paid $40K for an F-150 in '06...but I wanted it optioned out, so that was my choice...didn't make all F-150s $40K...If you add diesel and power top, it will be closer to $60k.
