DEEZEE ROOF RACK WIND NOISE

Hey everyone I recently installed the Deezee roof rack for JL. Love the way it looks so far but the wind noise over about 60mph gets old quick. Not a whistling noise but more of a low whooing noise. I’ve seen a couple other threads regarding Deezee making an airdam for the rack & that they would give you one if your rack didn’t come with it, however I’ve called them and they had no idea what I was talking about. They said they never made nor do they currently have any air dam or anything for wind deflection. For those who have the rack if you have any good suggestions for deflecting the wind noise I’d love to check em out. Pictures encouraged

That mini air dam part number is B 2750, but I too had zero luck in getting them to sell/send me one.

So the next best thing was to create one myself. I went the 3D printed route, but a piece of angle iron would probably work all the same. Attach with M8 bolts and nuts (the M8 bolt head is a 13 mm, which slides into the T-track).

Tested the rack with this up to 80 MPH and no whistling or whooshing noises that I could hear.

Agreed, this makes a HUGE difference.

I took mine off to put on a roof top tent and didn't put it back on, and it was so LOUD.

Weird. I have this roof rack and It came with the air deflector and it makes a world of difference. I ordered the full roof version that had bars for the freedom panels and for the rear top. We put the deflector on the front portion which we hardly use. So I got a piece of either 1/2" or 3/4" aluminum angle and made my own for the back. Again it makes a world of difference in wind noise but doesn't get rid of it completely
