First posting, desperate for ideas to fix death wobble on both my 18 JLU my 21 JLU, 2” Jeep lift on both, every suspension and steering component has been replaced with Synergy and Rock Jock parts, alignment done, factory sized tires balanced even a new steering box on the 18 because it wondered all over the road, caster is 6*. The wobble only happens now at 60 mph or higher but still does a mild wobble on CA bumpy highways. I’m at my whits end here as my wife drives one and my daughter the other.

I've had death wobble multiple times in my XJ and MJ, and it has always been caused by balljoints. My JL has started a wobble over rough roads and I'll be replacing the balljoints on this one too.

There seems to be nothing left to do except the ball joints. I am assuming thar with all the replacements you double checked the torque and there are no hallowed out hokes like at the track bar mount?

You probably already replaced it, but it was the steering stabilizer that failed on my 2021.

Thanks for the thoughts, the ball joints are brand new, Synergy non-knurled and were hard to get in. I replaced the steering stabilizer, Mopar.

Get under the front
Have someone start jeep and turn wheel 90degrees left then to other side approx 90 degrees past center (not super fast kinda slow) back and forth many times so you can look th

you look at all steering connections and see if there is slack in the connections before the pitman arm, drag link, tie rod etc moves the wheels back and forth

plenty of YouTube videos to look at

How many miles (on the tires) and what tires? My "factory sized tires" induced dw at 23k miles even though they were balanced. They were worn pretty good and even when they were supposedly balanced they weren't. Those were ko2s. I ran falken wild peaks ever since, get 50k miles out of them with none of those shenanigans. I do run a D or E load and no it doesn't cause them to feel like bricks of you don't inflate them to 60psi.

I don't know enough about Rock Jock parts and dodn't run synergy stuff so I can't help there. I went steersmarts on the track bar with the pro bushings.

If your tires have more than 20k miles you may want to start there. Swap out the 2 fronts with another wranglers newer ones or if a different brand and see if it goes away.

Or if they both run the same lift kit, maybe that's another sign to look into a different one.

The good news is when you solve it for one, you have a high chance of solving it on both

Can Synergy ball joints be tightened for pre-load like some of the others?
