One other thought. When I flipped the steering stabilizer to the correct orientation, I initially loosened up the track bar bolt instead. I torqued it back down, but after taking for a test drive my steering wheel was off. I had to adjust it to get it back to center. Seems odd to need to do that given what I touched.
The track bar centers your axle under the Jeep, and you should use the drag link to adjust the steering wheel. If the TRE on the drag link pitman arm side is sloppy that won’t be helping with DW.

track bar has noting to do with your steering wheel, do you mean you loosened the drag link?
No, I loosened the axle side of the track bar, then realized and re-tightended. Then I did the steering stabilizer flip, and went on the test drive. The steering wheel was off since then, and I had to adjust it today. Makes no sense to me

how big was your wrench? I would not assume that they are plenty torqued just because you couldn't move them. 190 foot pounds is A LOT and takes a big wrench.
I used my breaker bar, so I don’t think it’s necessarily untorqued bolts, but maybe a seal is bad. Hopefully get a clearer picture on Thursday

Ok thats good. You mentioned that you rotated the tires too? There was another thread a little while back where a guy got death wobble after rotating his tires. He had them balanced and it went away.

Thanks, yea someone mentioned this as well, and is a good thought since it was one of the two changes. Definitely going to have the dealer check the tire balances tomorrow

Ok, so dealership inspected everything, and ended up replacing the steering dampener. They also tightened the connection at the pitman arm at my request. They couldn’t replicate any issues after that. I will say the steering feels a lot tighter, like as in the feel. I drove home on the highway, and it was really smooth. Definitely seeing far less bump steer, and definitely don’t have the wobble I had before. The dealer did recommend getting a bulkier than stock SS, so I may do that. I’m also going to install the yeti TB I just got delivered. I’ll report back on any findings.

Yay! Hopefully you're now able to enjoy that Jeep again :)

Did the dealership check the wheels ? An out of balance wheel will also give you some issues. What size tire are you running?

Yes they checked the wheels. I also don’t see any abnormal wear...

I had to road force balance the wheels on my Jk after a tire rotation. No death wobble but huge vibration.

Installed the SteerSmart Yeti TB, and so far really impressed. Between the replaced SS and now this TB, the Jeep feels extremely solid over bumps, and tracked straighter. Highway was very smooth. Totally recommend the TB.

I have an appointment at the dealer to check mine out prior to any changes. Wanted to check alignment and torque specs. Then I will bring it home and check the torque again.
Once thats done I will install my Mopar LCA. I spoke with the service manager and they are good to go with lifts and whatever but we shall see.
