The answer to your question is more complex. Lot more information is needed. You need to provide actual invoice or a MSRP to calculate. It's impossible to really calculate OTD without additional information. Every state is going to be different because every state has different rate for sales tax and county tax. Registration and plate cost is different for every state. How much was DOC fee? Was it a cash deal or financing? Was there a trade-in? Did you buy any back-end products or services like extended warranties, wheel and tire insurance, magic car polish, service agreements, GAP insurance? Enjoy your new JL and congratulations!

just post the window sticker and someone on the forum will be able to help you out. It doesn't sound out of line. You should be able to get a JLU Sport S for about 10% off MSRP which should work out to around 5% under invoice.

You asking a question like that just tells everyone you didn't take the time to do your research.

Based on the options he listed his MSRP is $38,520.
Vermont tax is no less than 6%.
Let’s assume $150 for title and license.
And $299 doc fee.

Now let’s calculate backwards.

Out the door was $36,800, so hopefully he’s including taxes in that number. If so, his price before taxes would have been:
$34,700

Now subtract title, license, and doc fees:
34,700 - 299 - 150
= $34,251

Difference of MSRP and price paid before all fees and TTL is:
38,520 - 34,251
= $4,269

That would be 11% off MSRP. Not sure about percent off of invoice since that was not included, but Edmunds lists it as $37,533.

Now let’s take the invoice vs the price before fees and TTL:
37,533 - 34,521
= $3,011

That would be 8% off of invoice. Add back in the doc fee of $299 and then it may be closer to 7% off of invoice.

If those are the true numbers then not a bad deal. Only the OP can confirm.
