So, I'll start by saying I know about the knobs to the left of the steering wheel and use them well to kill interior lights when camping and to force the dashboard to max brightness at times.
My issue is the flickering of brightness as I drive. When driving through the shade of trees on a sunny day the screen brightness (whole dash really) will jump from really bright to quite dim on and off over the course of the drive. It doesnt even fade but just jumps to the new brightness level.
Today, I turned on the wipers and while it was still sunny the screens went pretty dark whenever I turned on the wipers. I wish I could just dial the level I want but the menu doesn't seem to helpful with the 'display brightness with headlights on/off' sections.

I've never had a vehicle be so bad at knowing if it was sunny or not :P

2022 Rubicon if that helps.

Do you use the "auto" headlight setting? Think that has some effect on interior lighting. There's also some brightness settings hidden under 'display' in the uConnect settings, but I think that mostly just controls the radio's screen and not the display between the gauge clusters. The 'auto' setting there would likely cause some of the brightness jumps you're seeing.

And iirc, the uppermost portion of the brightness dial is full brightness, while the next detent below that uses the light sensor like the 'auto' setting in uConnect (and also causes jumping brightness). Everything below that upper detent should be manual control.

The same thing bothered me and I stopped using the "auto" headlight setting, keep the uConnect 'brightness with headlights on' to level 7 or 8, and keep the dial at the uppermost part of the sweep just below the upper detent. No jumpiness at all.

Absolutely loved the idea of the light sensor, but Jeep totally f'ckd up the software imo. Any automatic changes in brightness should be smooth and gradual instead of jumpy and the stupid auto headlights behave unpredictably as well and don't allow the park lights to be the default instead of on/off. Hate it.

Definitely your auto headlights coming on and off. Same with using the wipers.
The headlights are designed to come on with the wipers to accommodate several states laws about lights on in conjunction with wipers.

The auto headlight feature was making my screen to the brightness dance.
Some days my screen just "takes the day off" completely. Just another jeep quirk to giggle at i suppose.
