Catching up on this thread. My 2018 Mojito! 4door's instrument panel just went dead this morning. I'm dropping it off at the dealer after work. Wish me luck....

Also I missed you guys. I haven't posted in forever!

Unfortunately this is still a real issue in the 2019.

So my Jeep is a JLU that is my dream car. It’s the v6 mated to the 6 speed manual. But the Colorado winter is becoming eminent and after receiving my car at the beginning of august this year I had issues from the start. After signing all the paper work and the car was presented to me I noticed an abundance of overspray on the rear driver fender. Honestly I don’t know how this left the factory let alone the dealer; however, I was reassured they would contact me when their painter was there. It’s been 2 months and nothing. Now as it’s getting colder in Denver the instrument cluster has been acting up much like what is described in this thread. It seems to happen at lower then 50 degrees F. I recorded a video of driving up my street to show the dealer what happens incase they try to play it off as a one time thing. I’m super hesitant to take it in even know I have the Jeep care item where service is paid and all and a loaner is supplied. That’s due to it seems they keep your car for a month plus, and the Jeep is my winter car and last thing I want is a inadequate loaner to be stuck with through part of winter. Not sure how I should approach my problems. @JeepCares

Well, looks like I get to join this club too! I noticed it happen once about a month ago when the temp was about 55 degrees, but it was very brief. Now that it has been in the 30’s here in Virginia Beach it has happened EVERYDAY since Tuesday evening...after about 10 mins of driving everything goes back to ā€œnormalā€. I bought my 2019 JLU back in May. Dealer visit is scheduled for Monday morning. Very frustrated!

It appears to have been fixed with the RTT Update, time will tell. As for as the customer service experience at the dealer...left a lot to be desired...

I bought a 2018 JLU left over on 8/4/19 with 13 miles on it. I have about 2350 miles on it and the gauge cluster died last night. The gauges, cluster lights, and display screen are all dead. I called the dealer and they said that they can fit me in tomorrow morning. There goes my plans for tomorrow, and after reading this thread, who knows how long it will take to get it repaired. This is my first time buying a Chrysler product and I'm extremely disappointed.

Ok, so I just got back from the dealership after a two hour wait in the waiting room. I'm a patient person and the wait was about what I was expecting. The service tech called my name and I could see a concerned look on his face. He told me that the gauge cluster will have to be replaced and that it would have to be ordered. Before he said anything else, I let him know that I was fully aware of the issues with some of these gauge clusters and that availability may be an issue. He will be giving me a call when he gets the ETA of the gauge cluster. For now, the Jeep is down for the count and will be at the dealer until it's repaired. Without hesitation, he handed me a key to a 2014 Avenger for a loaner car. The only problem with that is the time of year. I need to be reliable for my job in any weather condition, including a foot of snow on the road and all hours of the day and night in some cases. I've been at my place of work for 26 years and have always had a 4wd vehicle for this reason. I have to handle any emergency, and next week, I'm the only competent person in management onsite. If snowstorms are in the forecast, I will have to talk to the Jeep dealer about my situation. How they react, will definitely determine my future business with them and Chrysler in general. After having this situation happen with a new vehicle, my future purchases will be determined by what the auto manufacturers offer for compensation. Right now, I'm paying a substantial amount of money for a vehicle that I need, but I'm driving a vehicle that could put me in a dangerous situation if the snow flies. It will be interesting to see how this all pans out.

Thanks Laura, I appreciate that. I wouldn't consider myself frustrated, just a bit disappointed in the product. I do understand that the 2018 was a new model year, and bugs do occur in other manufacturers, also. I just never had a serious issue like this with the other new vehicles that I've purchased in the past from a different manufacturer. My girlfriend has a 2011 JKU and that had an issue with the gas tank and gas tank shield early on, but it's been a pretty dependable vehicle. It's getting older now and and beginning to have electrical issues. I have no issues with our local Jeep dealership, and the owner does a lot for the community. I know some of the employees there and they have treated us well so far. I just hope that there isn't too long of a wait for a new gauge cluster to arrive, and if there is, I wouldn't think of blaming the good folks at the dealership for that. Parts availability is solely in the hands of the manufacturer. I will post the results as this unfolds. Thanks again for your concern.

JIU2018B,
Not a problem! We would be happy to get you connected with a Case Specialist to see if there is anything we can do to get the part to your dealer in a more timely manner. Please reach out to us privately if you are interested in this.

Hi Everyone,
Reading through the posts it seems my jl is having the same issue now that winter is coming. I took a video of the issue occurring this morning. Can those that have the issue confirm this is the behaviour that you were witnessing.

I have had this occur twice now and would like to determine the cause and fix before winter truly sets in.

It only seems to happen if I let the jeep sit for more then 24hr in the cold. Can I expect the issue to increase with frequency as the temperature drops?

All my fuses and breakers are secure. The jeep is completely stock/the way I received it from the dealer. I have owned it since April 2019 and this issue has only started this week.

Next stop the dealer.

Thanks for helping me determine if this is the same issue described in this thread.
