I am not understanding how some people are saying they are driving their jeeps if they need a new instrument cluster. The instrument clusters have to be ordered to your exact mileage, and the jeep cannot be driven until the new cluster is installed or the mileage will be off. Especially when these parts are backordered by months... how many miles do you drive in a month? That is the reason almost everyone's jeeps have been stuck at the dealerships (mine since January 31). Aren't you worried about odometer fraud?

If all you are doing is a flash reprogram, that is different. That I believe you can drive around, no problem. But definitely not if replacing the back ordered instrument cluster.

Sometimes when I start my Jeep it'll flash everything a few times and gauges will go crazy. My rpm gauge won't move and my MPH barely moves. Like the computer it caught between itself of confuses itself? Any tips on starting the Jeep? Maybe it's an error on my end? Push the clutch in then brake pedal then push the button? Normally I push clutch in then brake them hit button. Maybe holding button too long? Does it some times but Then at times it doesn't do it. I only have 67 miles on the Jeep. Had it over a month. Any suggestions or anyone had this happen to them? Thanks!
I just bought 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sport Feb 19 2019 and after 1 day diagnosed as needing an instrument cluster

It’s been 49 days and Crysler saying no part available meanwhile they have my vehicle cause they said it’s unsafe with no gauges working - so frustrating

Can anyone help me with this part I need to drive my new Jeep??
Call Jeep customer care and open up a case. Just have all the information from the dealership work order. They helped have my part expedited and offered compensation for my downtime.

Hi everyone,
Recently there was a Technical Service Bulletin (08-023-19) that appears to address concerns similar to the symptoms that some of you are having with your vehicle. To ensure this TSB applies, we would like to get you into the dealer to have a qualified technician review the details of the TSB and specifics of your vehicle. Once reviewed, the technician can then perform the repair procedure that best matches the symptoms and diagnosis of your vehicle.

Do you have the 7" color display? I was have trouble with the gauges not working for about 5 to 10 minutes until it warmed up. My dealer did a software update. Took about 30 minutes. Has worked fine since ( knock on wood ).

Still waiting on mine since January. Good luck getting yours! It's been nothing but a joke with no answer either as to where the part is

So I'm not sure why, or how, I didn't have to leave my Jeep at the dealership since December but I'm darn glad I didn't have to. For the past few months I've been just dealing with not having a center cluster that stayed on without crashing over and over. No matter what the temperature is, when I first start it up it crashes continuously for about 25 or 30 minutes. There'd be a very brief period where the digital odometer would work. That helped me ensure my speed. I'll admit it made me become pretty consistent on judging my speed.

Anyway, I didn't really press my dealership. It's a small rural one, and I didn't want them keeping it. I figured they didn't really know WTF they're doing and I wanted my Jeep. I also hoped a flash update would work.

Then I saw the TSB (08-23-19) on this thread. I took it this morning. As usual it crashed on startup. It also crashed the whole drive to their shop. (Don't worry about my filming while driving. I was on a long stretch of a county road. No cars around for miles. Just fields.)

Today they did the flash update. It's been working ever since. I parked it for over six hours. We even had a blizzard hit, so it's cold again. I just went into my garage to see if it's fixed.

I'm glad to say it seems to be working. I'll give it a few days. I'm hoping this is the end of it.

It's a cold, snow covered morning. After sitting all night in our unheated garage I started up my JLU. I'm happy to say everything works. The flash update seems to have worked!! I'll post later if it goes back to crashing. Feeling bad for those who have had theirs kept by dealerships.

I've also had the flash update and mine hasn't been rebooting (it also hasn't been as cold out). I was told they would not install my new cluster, even though it was ordered months ago, because the flash update is supposed to fix the issue. So, first step I would say get a @JeepCares rep and then bring your car to your dealership and see if they will perform the TSB update.

Had the flash update done last Friday. It worked. No rebooting to date. Before the flash I was having daily rebooting. It started 2 days after I got the jeep, Dec. 24 and continued to the morning of the flash. Mine would fix itself after a couple of minutes, so I lived with it. I did not want to stop driving the jeep to wait for a new dash cluster. I figured they would solve the problem with a computer flash or get more dash clusters made to solve the backorder.

I ended up with a buyback. They bought my jeep back at MSRP and swapped me out for a new jeep of similar MSRP . I was returning a 4-door Rubicon and had selected a 2-door Rubicon as my replacement vehicle. So the dealership added some mopar parts - steel front bumper, a lift, and tailgate reinforcement, as well as some aftermarket things like new wheels and 37" tires in order to bring the MSRP of the 2-door up to match the MSRP of the 4-door. My buyback process took less than 3 weeks from initial contact with the buyback company, up through the day I went to the dealership to trade key fobs and drive my new Jeep home. This was after nearly 2 months of waiting for this instrument cluster to come in, ordered on January 31. I had finally just said I am not accepting another push-back on delivery... the buyback was the option they gave me and I was immediately approved for that. My buyback experience was great, no complaints. No lawyers were involved, no arbitration was needed.

Got mine back few weeks ago. The flash update worked in mine. Cold here where I'm at right now and has worked fine since. Glad it worked on yours! Good to have mine back! @missnico
