Thinking of moving to FL in a few years to escape the brutal Chicago winters. I have friends in Tampa and Miami. I have never been to the Gulf side only Miami and the Keys. How do you like Sarasota?

I lived in Hollywood, FL (just north of Miami) for a few years. I like it MUCH more on this coast! The beaches are far, far better, and the pace of life is just a little bit slower.
