I recently replaced all the pulleys after one failed and caused a squeal. While I was in there, I also did the oil filter housing, water pump, plugs etc…

Well today I noticed an oil leak on the driver’s side of the engine. I haven’t tracked down the exact source yet, still working on that. While I was underneath checking things out, I noticed the crank pulley appears to have a bit of a wobble.

I’m also still getting an occasional squeal on startup, not every time, but enough to notice.

I did some searching and haven’t really found much info about crank pulleys going bad or needing replacement, so I’m not sure what’s considered normal here.

The harmonic balancer on my brand new ‘25 Willys does the same exact thing. I posted a similar thread the other day and didn’t get a ton of feedback. Someone said it was normal. My experience being a mechanic suggested it wasn’t. I had a mechanic at the dealer look at it and he didn’t seem worried. What people claim to be normal on a $50,000 vehicle is wild man.

I’ve sold two this past week. If it’s not making noise, don’t worry about it. It’s not going to fall off.
