Hey all, I was measuring tread depth on my firestone mt2's today and I noticed that pretty much all of the space in between the tread blocks is covered by these small cracks. On all 5 tires. Sucks too, because I'm only down to 12/32's after 25k miles. But, I just wanted to get everybody's opinion on if this truly means all 5 tires have to go, or if it's just the upgrade devil on my shoulder doing that whispering.

These are firestone destination MT2's, 37x12.5x17, purchased brand new in April 2021 with 25k miles since then. Always run at 28psi cold when around town, 14 offroad.

Thanks for any and all opinions.

Take it to a Firestone store or Discount Tire and see if they qualify for a warranty claim.

Mine is three years old with 20k miles and although the wear is similar, there is no dry rot.

I’ll give it a shot. Thanks!

Small cracks between the tread blocks, also known as "weather cracks" or "dry rot," can be a sign of tire aging and wear. While it's normal for tires to experience some wear and tear over time, the presence of these cracks could indicate that the rubber is starting to break down and become less safe to use.

Additionally, it's important to regularly inspect your tires for signs of wear and damage, and to maintain proper tire pressure and alignment to extend the life of your tires and ensure safe driving.

I’d check the date codes on the tires as well. Two year old tires “should” not be showing dry rot.
