Acoustic with logo is what they are supposed to be bringing this afternoon. Them asking about the antenna jarred my memory about those, and was just curious if anyone ever figured it out.

I'm sure I do not have to tell you to look at the windshield markings on the windshield they plan to install BEFORE you let them pull your old windshield, etc.. You wouldn't be the first guy that had them show up with the wrong windshield.

I’m already on it. Called them back to make absolutely sure it is for JL and not Jk, since both are 2018. I’m sure that will be a problem for many people, concerning many parts.

I’ve been a member of the cracked windshield club for about a month and a half now. Are there any t-shirts or stickers for us members yet?

Maybe we should save our little corner jeeps for craft projects.

By the way, the glass man today said that the “ crop circles “ from the suction cups don’t come from Jeep, but from the glass mfg when they handle it when it’s still hot.
He also said that the dots and black edge on windshields are on there to hide/ add uv protection to the glue holding it in.

Found my new favorite windhsield replacer/fixer. Somebody shot a BB to my windshield (at least that’s what it looks like) and we spent some time talking about Gorilla Glass’ new offering and etc.,

He sealed the crack that was expanding quickly and sealed a different chip i had on my windshield.

Has anyone ever figured out what the weird antenna windshields are for? I’ve seen pictures on the forum of them, and my glass people asked if I needed one with the antenna, but no one seems to know what they’re for, since all JL have a mast antenna.

Rumor is for the Adaptive Cruise Control in the 2019 year.

Sorry if this is buried in a post somewhere, but where does one buy glass protection for their Jeep? I wasn't given the option from USAA - is it a Jeep thing?

Well Im new to the Forum and to the Jeep family. 4 days / 400miles I got my 1st crack while driving down the Highway. Trying to find out what the dealer can do.

Anyone one here using Gorilla glass? tips and tricks greatly appreciated

What's up with these windshields!?! Had mine since May, with about 7000 miles.

I was sitting in Dennys and mine went from perfect to huge crack halfway across! Its moving at a fairly rapid pace across the bottom half of the windshield. No rock, no chip, just cracked. :-/

Acoustic glass has some sort of properties for the sound system. Not exactly sure what. It supposedly for the Upgraded stereo, but most JL’ s seem to have it. Check your drivers corner to see if you do.

I picked up my 2018 JL Unlimited Sahara on Thursday. Today (Monday), I was driving to the dealer to pick up the Owner’s Manual and second key fob when — with a little under 200 miles driven — I heard a tiny cracking noise. When I got to the dealership, it was under an inch. I showed the sales guy, who said he would follow up with me tomorrow.

On the way home, it expanded to probably ten inches.

There was no big rock or anything like that. And I didn’t notice anything before today (though it started in that little area in the low center that the wipers don’t get — so maybe it was disguised by dirt).

Seeing this thread is extremely discouraging. I’ve had cars actually get hit with stuff and not even chip, or barely chip. But the stories in this thread, and now my experience, are just absurd.

Side note: did the posts stop after they started selling the Gorilla Glass? Seems weird.

Question for someone who got a replacement. Do the new ones have the suction cup marks??? If they don't, a replacement is not such a bad thing.

I hadn’t noticed the suction cup marks. Maybe I’m not sure what I’m looking for.

But I’m reading through this thread, I did see someone post that the replacements don’t seem to have them.
