My CEL has been coming on lately. Code = P2002 (DPF fault). I clear the code and it comes back a week or so later. That said, the driveability is totally normal.

I had a great experience with a local dealer (Autonation Jeep). Was able to make an appointment for the next day, they diagnosed the issue the same morning, ordered a new housing from LA, it came in overnight, and they installed the part the day the part arrived. Basically, it took them 1.5 days. As an aside, I always like it when the issue is caused by a visibly broken part as opposed to chasing software gremlins or faulty sensors. It makes me more confident in the repairs.

Glad you got it resolved so quickly. Don’t suppose you have a pic?

Rick was your situation anything like this previous post? Was it only "new housing" meaning bracket? Or the whole thing minus the bracket? Difference here I don't believe this member received codes only loud sound occurred.
"UPDATE 2: The weld broke again after the dealer had welded it. I brought it back and spoke with the service manger. He decided not to mess with it any longer. He agreed to replace the DPF under warranty. The new DPF has been installed and so far no issues. I can only assume Jeep has made a change to the part because the part number ended with a letter higher than the original one. "

I'm actually on my way to pick it up now - didn't have time yesterday. I'll report back.

UPDATE: Just got the Jeep back. They replaced the entire DPF with the newest version and replaced the catalytic converter. They said the crack expanded/contracted with heat and that caused the P2002 code to be thrown.

I was impressed that it was done, including shipping the parts, in a day and a half.

So much for supply chain issues.

My service advisor (and new best friend :)) is a car guy and drives a Hellcat - that's always a good thing.

Thanks for the expedited response Rick. If ever faced with the same faulty component its worth the drive to Arizona to your dealership to have it remedied. That's exceptional service ( newest version including a new catalytic converter) in a exceptional time frame.

I've always changed my own oil, but since my Jeep was already in the shop, and I have all three WAVE oil changes available, I opted to try them. I now have oil spots on the garage floor.

I truly knew better. They changed out my DPF without incident, but the oil change guys evidently struggled. Is it possible that they were confused by my Fumoto valve, and actually removed/replaced it to drain the used oil - like it was an OEM drain plug? I'll crawl underneath tomorrow to check. [I'm betting on sloppy filter removal]

How hard is this stuff to do right?

Just as I expected: sloppy oil filter removal. As we've discussed on here, quickly capturing the filter (from beneath) in a one gallon baggy is the neatest method, but if you are in a hurry at the change station, what's your motivation to be neat? :)

Lesson learned (again).

Who was your service guy. I’m probably taking mine in for oil leak soon? Had mine in there for an Aux battery a while ago and everything went smoothly. Thanks
