I bought my 2019 JLU new. Dealer had already installed a lift. My steering was always sloppy and needed constant driver input. I had a dealer look at it for the steering box TSB and they didn’t find any problems. It’s still better than my ild

fast forward to today. I’m picking out lift components for my JT. I’m looking at a fox steering stabilizer. I realize my jeep has that. Lightbulb goes off—-it’s adjustable! I run out to the garage. It was adjusted to the softest setting. Now it feels like I’m driving a new vehicle.

TLDR: it took 5+ years for me to realize my steering stabilizer was adjustable

Good on you for figuring it out on your own!

last week I had to take my jeep to two places to get an alignment:
- Place number one is an old Defender specialist and after checking some of my work, they returned the Jeep and said they don’t an alignment machine… my head exploded, but I thought they just don’t want me back at all and I left.
- place number said they work on jeeps all the time, so I left mine there… and called me a few minutes later to tell that my steering wheel wasn’t centered and they were habing trouble centering it and doing the alignment at the same time. I had to “remind” them that both the drag link and tie rod are adjustable separately - the guy was nice at least, but he was utterly lost! So, after explaining how to do the work, I picked up the Jeep and guess what? The steering wheel isn’t centered!

sorry for the rant - my point is thaf you figured it out on your own and these professionals couldn’t set the toe and straigthen the steering wheel on a JL. So, you should open a mechanic shop where I live!
