So my 2018 JLUR 2.0T is visiting the shop right now for an oil leak. I have 116K miles on it so not all that unexpected. I have had the oil separator replaced previously. This leak appears to be on the upper driver's side of the engine (turbo side). They are doing a die test to find the source.

So to all of your knowledge and experience, what are the common areas for oil leaks on this engine?
1) oil separator

On my 2022 JLR 2.0, the transfer case input seal leaked. At a different time also had the crankshaft seal leak. Both repaired under warranty by the dealership. So far, so good. 🤞🏻

Had a 2.0 for over 70k before I had to sell. Good experience. As to an oil leak in that area, there is a stainless turbo drainback tube that was seeping. Easy fix with four small bolts needing removed. They use a sheetmetal gasket on either end. I just cleaned them up, put a thin skim layer of Right Stuff on both sides of the gaskets, and reinstalled the tube. Never leaked again.

Only other issue was the coolant loss TSB. Did that fix easily myself too.

77k on 2019. I am getting a wet spot on the lower passenger side. Assuming it is the oil separator.
No other leaks.

My 2021 2.0 had the timing chain cover replaced around 55k miles due to an oil leak. Now at 61k and good so far.

Last year I started shopping '18 and '19 JLs with the 2.0 engine. I wanted something dirt cheap, so I was looking at Jeeps with 80,000 to 120,000 miles on them. EVERY 2.0 powered Jeep I looked at had oil leaks. Most of them were the oil separator, but there were some leaking from the front cover or other spots. And some had the timing chain failure. One that I called about the salesman said "it's in service for some kind of problem and we don't know when it'll be ready" so I passed on it.
