My local Jeep dealership ran this commercial today where they noted they would BEAT ANY DEAL - GUARANTEED. I have a quote at 8% under invoice from a non-local dealer (still in NC, 2 hours away from Charlotte) so I called up the local salesman and he said he had never heard of the commercial, said he already gave their best deal (4% under invoice) and then finally said to forward him the quote I have and he would run it by his Manager. Any chance they match or “beat” the offer I have per their commercial? @PaulwithJeep Thoughts?

Doubt it. They'll likely claim it needs to be an advertised deal. I have not had great luck with the LKN group. I have had good luck with Steve White Motors in Newton. If you don't have any luck with the LKN team, check out Steve White. They're a "volume" dealer. Good luck, and if you decide to go there, let me know, and I'll find the name of the guy I used.

That would be great, message me the name. Would love to stay local but the three I have been to...Lake Norman, Concord and Matthews...have not been able to touch 7-8% under invoice.

Very nice, low pressure gentleman. I can't guarantee they'll get all the way down to 8% below, but they're more likely to deal than any of the Jeep shops around here.

Things may change but don’t be afraid to branch out. Who knows what the future holds but for now, 8% below invoice is a steal. Take the deal.

I’ve always thought this about the “we’ll beat any deal” dealerships: why are you playing stupid games? If you’re going to give me such a great price, why not just give me the great deal to begin with instead of jerking me around? It’s a gimmick and they always have some reason not to follow through. If I find a better deal than they offer I’m not going to waste my time going back to them. If they respected me as a customer they’d have given me the deal in the first place. Buy elsewhere from a dealership that gave you a better deal up front.

It really depends on the salesperson, the buyer, the dynamics of the interaction and the amount of trust between the two.

Fact is, people like to shop especially car sales where the stereotype is that the buyer is going to get screwed over. So the process is cyclical: if either party wants to play a game, the other is forced to be a participant.

If I am the salesperson and I give the customer the best deal and he wants to walk, can I trust that he’ll come back to buy from me?

If I am the potential buyer and ask the salesperson for the best deal even though he knows I may not buy from him, can I really trust that I’ll get the best deal from him?

I personally prefer to be kind and direct to any car salesman, always stating my purchasing intentions early and upfront. I confirm that they understood and let them know that if they’re going to help me, I’ll need them to be human, upfront and honest. And if they can’t do this, then I go elsewhere.

I would imagine if it is advertised like that they would have to but I'm also sure somewhere in the ad is plenty of small legal print to get out of it if they wanted to haha. I'm personally not a huge fan of those types of promotions. It suggests that normally they aren't giving you the best deal you can get but right now they will make an exception if you work hard enough to find better deals. That's why I am very transparent about my pricing with everyone on here. However they want to do business though is up to them, I won't talk down on other dealerships and their practices...to much.

I also recently visited the same 3 dealerships and also one in Pineville. I wasn’t impressed with any of the local dealers. If I decide to pull the trigger on a new Rubicon, I’ll probably order via Tri-City in Eden. I’m just holding out to see what other deals pop up out there due to the current climate. GM is running some great deals on their trucks. I would love 0% financing on a Rubicon.

I’m in the exact same boat as you. Will likely go to Tri-City.

Good Luck with that, the best I found on my 2020 Rubicon two weeks ago was 2.44 @ the local credit union. The lower rates also come with shorter terms too.
