Took my new Rubicon 4xe out to the trail today to put it thru its paces. A couple of miles in, I started hearing a clunk from what sounds like the T-case every time I accelerated or decelerated. The sound was also present when ‘bouncing’ slowly over rocks. This was all at a slow 3-4MPH. Once home, I set it into 4LO on flat dirt, and I can recreate the noise by accelerating (CLUNK) and then taking my foot off of the pedal (CLUNK). If I switch to 4HI I can still hear the sound, but much quieter. Tried 2HI and the sound is still there but quieter still. Never noticed this before in 2HI, the 4xe has always felt very tight on acceleration and deceleration with MaxRegen.
Anyone experience this? My TJ never had this issue, but it did not have the 4:1 either…
