Not sure if anyone else has or had this issue. I saw a couple similar ones in prior posts from others so maybe this is related... or I am searching for the wrong thing.

So, when the climate control is set to "hot" it taps into the lava flow hidden behind the dash and you can not even touch the vents. So, probably normal. The issue I am having is if I turn the desired temperature down, it never comes off of hot/warm. It goes from incinerator, to broil, then to bake, and finally to keep warm when it gets to 60. Once you pass that and actually got to "cold" it is cool. Enough that you know the A/C has kicked in. Prior to that it is just varying degrees of what level of doneness for whatever you are cooking in the jeep.

Anyone else had that issue?

I like it cold myself,... doesn't seem to be an option in my 2020 JLUR. I am assuming just a software issue... but not sure,

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a dual climate control setup? and use of a Tazer?

No Tazer. It does have dual climate for Pass & driver. Does the same on both sides

Hi is Hot and Lo is cold. Everything in between the Jeep regulates the vent temperatures to get the interior to that number as quickly as possible. It’s working as intended so best bet is just to set the number to the temperature you would be comfortable at and let it do its thing.

So, you are saying when I have it set to 65 and it is 70 inside and out, that blowing hot air is normal.

I am pretty sure it does not work that way. No other Dodge I have or have been in does that. Nor have the other Jeeps.

Nope, not normal. When the climate sensor stops working, you really end up with either HOT or COLD. Same as if you take a nondual climate control setup and in Tazer accidentally set that feature thinking it's just a software thing. It screws things up quickly. That sensor is on the panel area just below the steering wheel. Make sure it's plugged in and/or replace it.

Thank you, this is what I was suspecting the issue was (possibly bad sensor). I really appreciate you knowing where the sensor is as I had no idea where to start looking and haven't had a lot of time to research it yet. I will try to take it apart to look on Monday.

@Wulfgott did you ever get this issue resolved? What finally fixed it? I have the exact same problem.

Actually, no. A lot of stuff has come up in between (injury, family, work, etc.) that I have not had a chance to change out the sensor as others have said. I am pretty confident that is the problem as it is the only thing that makes sense. I have other stuff to do inside the dash now though such as wiring power for phones (the cigarette/12v isn’t cutting it) as well as reinstalling the GMRS radio under dash from its temporary placement. So when I do that I will swap out the sensor and see what happens. Sorry, wish I could be more helpful at this point.

Thanks for the reply. When you have 5 minutes would you mind unplugging the cabin temp sensor and seeing what happens to your symptoms? I just did that and was surprised that climate control still attempts to manage HVAC. I figured it would go into an open loop control mode. I have no idea what it could possibly be using for a feedback signal with no cabin temp sensor.

If I get a chance here in the next couple days absolutely. I am only guessing but believe It is most likely still reading from the outside ambient sensor and trying to figure it out based on that as it still has some information to do calculations.

So i upgraded the stack on my jeep and bought the OBDGenie from infotainment; installed everything and it works but i am having this issue with the temperature; let's say i put the temp to 65 degrees, it starts working and all of the sudden it starts getting hotter and hotter in order for the temp to go down i have to put the temp in LO. also i added a temp sensor in my jeep bought this from ebay and plugged it in do you guys know if the OBDGenie will activate this sensor and is this the cause of the temp not working properly?

You accessed the Jeep patented portable volcano and Dragon hibernation cavern vent system. I finally was able to change out my sensor. The only change now for me (Which is an improvement overall) is if the outside temperature reads say... 62F... and I set the desired temp to 62F it blows on the cooler side of warm. 63F - 65F are ever increasing warmness levels. Which then quickly proceed to Volcanic vent from the internal lava flow. Setting it to say 61F then 60F actually is more cool (prior it was just varying degrees of lava and dragons breath). Lo, still is cold. Which I use more than anything now anyway.
