A few months ago I noticed that when I accelerate in reverse with even somewhat light throttle, I hear a sort of clank come from the underside of the vehicle. Either from around the center or rear. I do not hear the sound any other time except when maneuvering in reverse.

I took it to the dealer and asked them about it and they said they looked it over but couldn't find a source and basically told me not to worry about it.

Does anyone else's Jeep do this or have an idea as to what it might be? I'm just wanting to know if I should be concerned about it.

Thanks.

Hi Josh903,
We completely understand why this may be concerning. I am unable to determine what the cause of this sound might be since I am not a trained technician but I do suggest addressing this with your dealer again if this continues to happen. You may also send us a private message and we will gladly provide you with additional assistance while your Jeep is at the dealer.
