Woke up this morning to what I can only describe as a relatively quiet hissing sound coming from the engine when accelerating over 3,000 RPM or so. Seems to be coming more from the left side, but that could just be because of me sitting inside the vehicle. Most prominent in second gear, but can be heard in at least 1st and 3rd, as well. Not sure what could be causing this. Curious if anyone else has experienced something similar. 3.6L Sport S standard transmission.
Checked fluid levels, all look good except it seems the dealership put a quart too much oil. Did swing by the dealership, but left without dropping it off because the head service tech decided he'd rather argue with me about my oil level and try to convince me a dipstick with oil on top of the metal weight on a hot engine is normal and an overfill is 2 inches above the weight. (Autonation Jeep West in Denver) They also didn't top off my coolant and left a slow leak on one tire even after rotating it. After that, I decided I don't trust those yahoos and I'd find a reputable repair shop nearby instead. Everything else seems normal. Haven't taken it off road recently, so don't think anything was jarred loose.
Hoping this isn't related to the oil, as I do tend to drive my vehicles hard. Will update once I get things diagnosed.
