I was driving the other day and the check engine light came on. Used my idash to check the code and it showed P203e Reductant level sensor circuit. Def gauge shows slightly over 1/4. I read some Ram reports and a BMW one about crystalization on the level sensor so, I decided to drain the def tank and fill with distilled water, let it sit to dissolve any crystals then refill with def and drive it. So far after about 70 miles the light is still on and the def level shows the same level. I have 2.5gals in the tank so it should read closer to 1/2. I'm starting to think the sensor is bad.

Any chance anyone knows more about this system and if the sensor can be replaced independently of the tank? Every other vehicle seems to need the whole tank to be replaced?

Have you used it before? I came across that but haven't found many cases of it being used/successful. Figured I'd might give it a shot.
Just started adding it to a full tank. It's a bit redundant because I have always used Blue Def Platinum and still do. The Platinum version has a similar additive in it. Because I am in extreme hot climate and my diesel Wrangler is not a daily driver it sits in the hot garage which is a catalyst for crystallization.

I just changed my idash to report def level and it reports 0 while the dash of the jeep still shows over 1/4. Can anyone with a scan gauge or Idash tell me if the the two match or not?

Well after 250 miles of driving today the light did not clear on its own but I noticed the def gauge dropping ever so slightly which makes me think that everything is operational. After getting to my destination, I cleared all codes with jscan, and while the app still showed the code, I restarted the jeep and the light was off. Guess we'll see tomorrow if it stays off.

Well after a 20 mile drive the light stayed off. The next drive it came back on after 7 miles. I cleared it again after filling up with diesel and it stayed off for the next 150 miles. Def gauge is now at about 1/8 of a tank.

I'm not sure what to think at the moment.

Check engine light came on again, def level low and giving me the "will not start in 260 miles" message.

Filled up the def tank and the pump shut off just over 3 gallons. I'm pretty confident it's full, but unfortunately still reading low and "will not start" messages is on.

I've got 43k miles on the odometer, so I'm outside of the basic 3/36 warranty, but my window sticker shows 5/100k powertrain. Anyone have any documentation that shows emissions equipment as being covered under one or the other? Only thing I can find on Mopar's site is a 3/100k warranty on the 3.0L long block, nothing related to emissions equipment explicitly.

I did not get a code but I got a "service DEF system" warning. I out half a bottle of Rislone in the her tank and mine and the warning went out. They also have this available;

https://www.amazon.com/Rislone-4780...20&mcid=27551a9cc6993ced87b5eaa4c1e6829e&th=1

And i added some of that when the fill warning came on and will be adding that to the def bottle before i put it in the tank going forward.
Do you remember how long it took? I've heard as many as 250 miles which would put me really on the edge if it doesn't take care of it.

Well rislone didn't do it for me. I replaced the tank and now my def level reads properly. Took it for a short drive, 1-2 miles and another code popped up P208B. Guess I'll have to either try clearing codes or go for a longer drive and see what happens.

Finally got the jeep back out. Have put on about 150miles and no codes or messages. So I think after enough driving the system sees everything operating as normal.
