We picked up our new to us, 2020 Turbo Diesel last week and have loved driving it so far. Incredible power, great MPG, has 2.5 inch lift and 37's, 11,500 miles.

I jumped in yesterday evening headed to the grocery store, it was about 45 degree out. Noticed right away the check engine light was on, didn't worry much about it since it wasn't flashing and felt normal. About 10 minutes into the drive, it felt like I was pulling a boat. Pressing the pedal didn't do anything.... I planned to coast as long as I could and pull off the road in a safe spot. Pressed half throttle again and as she woke up a bit and it slowly got back to normal. After shopping, took the long way home, felt completely normal, did a few pulls to make sure.

Trouble code is P0183. A search says it the fuel Temp sensor. Going to the dealer tomorrow, hope it's a quick fix.

Hmm... one thing I would do is remove the fuel filter and inspect for debris or issues. Almost sounds like it was temporarily starved for fuel.

I thought about that. Have an appointment at the deal for 2PM today. Will report back with what they find.

I had the same issue, though mine also was throwing the “Service Electronic Throttle Control”. When it threw the CEL, it would tamp down the throttle if the engine rpms got over 3000 rpm, or so it seemed.
The fix ended up being a) a new temp sensor and b) when they checked the wiring they found a harness where the wire wasn’t fully crimped.

I’ve put about 2k miles on it since then and it hasn’t had an issue. Also, check and make sure all the fuses are seated

That’s great info Rodend. The dealer said the code was in the history, not active when they looked at it. They ordered a fuel temp sensor and will swap it when it come in.

They cleared the code history and sent me on my way. All seems fine at the moment.

Your Jeep might be a problem child...that's why it got traded...hate to say it, but something as new and awesome as the 3.0 turbo diesel Jeep gets turned in, something just don't smell right.

Hope for you the issue is resolved.

Or my Jeep has a faulty sensor and the previous owner bought a Diesel Ram. I know the history of this Jeep. Also, you may not know, but both carfax and the dealer keep records of all repairs. You can access that history pretty easily.

There are about 35 Diesel 3L for sale on Autotrader. Could it be a conspiracy?

Dang, I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I was just stating a possible reason a "perfectly" good Jeep was throwing codes. Chill...

Not necessarily. I sold my 3,0L Willys under 5K miles in a perfect condition and got a Gladiator Rubicon. But after driving the 3.0L, and finding the Gladiator a little bit cumbersome as a daily driver, went back to the 2021 3.0L.
