Just wondering what the consensus is for dealers/sellers with the best deals on tires? I'm about to have to get a new set of 35s, probably going with the MT Baja Boss AT. Prices I've seen among national dealers are pretty consistent in the $370 range. Ebay seems to have some better deals, just not sure I trust buying tires there. And I'm talking just purchasing them, I have a place I trust to mount/balance.

I don't know who has the cheapest tire on the market at the moment, but I would at least consider getting a quote from discount tire for a few reasons; they are a forum sponsor, their prices are competitive, they do a really nice job mounting and balancing large tires. If they don't get it right the first time, they will balance them until they are right, no questions asked.

Btw: I think you're making a great tire choice. ?

+1 on @Discount Tire
They also price match so if you find a good deal somewhere else they'll match it! Be advised that @Northridge4x4 also beats prices from competitors just not sure if they do that on tires

I’ve bought from Discount many times in the past, but lately the ones around me have suffered from the Jeep Service business model of hiring people who have no clue what they are doing. I bought a set of Continentals from them last spring for my 02 Vette and they severely scratched 3 of my rims and didn’t say a word about it when I picked up the car. They ultimately paid to refinish all 3, but it was a headache. Kinda lost my confidence in them after that.

I just bought a set of Falkens from Simple Tire on sale and they shipped directly to a nearby go mobile installation tech and I had them installed in my driveway. Entire experience was excellent and the go mobile tech was top notch. Would definitely use them again. There isn’t a discount tire installer local to me so this was the most economical / convenient way. Mine were 275/60/20 but he mentioned he can install larger sizes.

You could buy from discount tire direct then and take them to your favorite tire installer, possibly Les Schwab, they are good around here.
America's tire is also good.

Not long after the Discount Tire incident I described above, I bought a new set of wheels for the Vette and thus bought a brand new set of Continentals, this time from Simple Tire. I found they have excellent prices on performance car tires, but not so much on off-road tires.

And as mentioned above, I have so far found Wal-Mart and Priority Tire to have the best prices on the Baja Bosses.

Same experience for me. DT has gone down the crapper. Last year I paid to have them swap wheels on my C7 Vette. Get in the car and check engine light is on…didn’t bring it to them like that. Manager just shrugged his shoulders and told me to go to Autozone to run the code. I was so damn pissed. Likely my last time using them after spending many thousands of dollars with them. Back in the day they were phenomenal. Today, not so much.

Simple Tire and Ebay for me. I can do my own installation and the mom n pop shop down the street will get my money for balancing before any big box store touches my wheels.

I second everything @Flip said. I bought my Nittos online through Joseph Rupp with @Discount Tire and he got me a great deal. Tires were delivered to the dealership and installed the day my Jeep rolled off the truck.

Edit - there’s no such thing as a good 4x4 shop anywhere near me - I shop online for everything, including tires.

Just bought my 4th set from Discount Tire, no complaints. I believe Tire Rack is a sister store of Discount Tire.

DT and America's tire out here are the same as well.
They have always been really good for me.

I use discount tire direct a lot, since they will send the tires to my door and only charge $50 freight on 5 tires. Plus you can buy the certificates on line as well. I have bead locks on the jeep so it makes more since for me.

How’s the experience with Ebay been? I see good prices, but on one listing for a set of 4 Baja Bosses, I could see the DOT date code and the tires were two years old.
