The Viair says tires up to 31". Have you tried it on any 35's?
Used it on my 295/70s (33.4") several times, takes 2 minutes to go from 18 to 32 psi. I've heard many that have used it on 35s, takes about 3 minutes for them. Only downside is it gets very hot, so you need to keep it in a safe place for a few minutes rather than putting it in a bag. FWIW it seems to be very high quality vs others that I've seen at anywhere near the $70 price.

I have had that unit for a couple years now. Mostly use it to pump up the 37's on my Land Cruiser. It has worked great for that.

Thanks for sharing.

Does anyone have instructions on how to rewire the battery cables on these to the trailer plug?
The trailer wires on the vehicle likely can't handle the amperage required. This would need to be verified or you will blow fuses (or even worse cause a fire hazard).
The trailer plug is rated for 30A. Just checked out the Harbor Freight one, and it is too, so should be fine, but always do your own research.

I do use a 30A compressor off the tow plug, as do many others here.

No detailed instructions to offer, but you just snip the battery clamps off the compressor and wire it into the tow harness plug.

The plug should come with instructions, or you can do a web search. It is very easy, as you are only doing only two wires, not all seven. (If you want, you don't even need to crimp terminals, just loop wire around the screws and tighten. Might need to do that every couple years though. But you didn't hear that from me)

A great part about jeeps is playing with them and expanding your own skills and abilities as well. Do your research, measure twice, cut once (maybe swear and repeat two or three times), then bask in the glow of having done it yourself.

Go buy the compressor on sale first; it'll work with the battery clamps anyway. Then get a *trailer-side tow plug and understand how they work. It's really easy, honest. Good luck.

Awesome. Just ordered one. $102 out the door. Hoping it’s higher capacity means less runtime, so less heat, therefore a longer life.

if the one sold at Napa is just a rebranded one of other brands with a similar designs (ex: Thumper
max) then just note that thing has a max amperage draw of 90A which is crazy lol.

I’m gonna wire one of these panel mount weather tight Anderson powerpole connectors into my rear bumper with 4/0 wire. I’ll put the male ends on the compressor. I don’t think it will draw more than 45 amps lol.

I guess as long as you keep your motor running :)

Always keep motor running, more quick fills with 14v boost.
