Cargo Cover with back seat removed

Has anyone found, or made, a cargo cover for the back of a 2 door Wrangler with the back seat removed? I'm not really concerned about anyone stealing anything from the back. I'm more concerned about covering the back with the top folded down and trying to keep the back somewhat rain, dust, or mud free.

Tuffy makes something similar. Also stupid-expensive for what it is.

I think the softtop has to come off completely for both of those. I saw those in my previous searches. Thanks!

Yeah, soft top has to come off. I haven't seen one that worked with the top installed, not for a JL. I have the Bestop version.

I have a heavy duty canvas tarp with D-rings on all sides that I lock down to the various metal clips in the cargo area with 8 padlocks I bought on amazon that all open with the same key. Obviously it's not as secure as rigid storage, but it's better than leaving something out in the open. It also looks kinda cool like I'm in the rat patrol.

Given the way the soft stop sits when it’s down and lumped up in back, I can’t think of any way to keep the back clear of dirt dust an mud when it’s down but still attached. In the past, I’d remove my soft top and keep one of the rain covers stowed in back in case the rain came.

I made this 16 years ago for my 2 door 2007 JK out of 3/4" plywood. I now use it in my 2024 JL. It is 2 inches narrower than the tub space to make for easy installation and removal. It can be secured down via the rear seat hoops and if you put a latch on the underside you would have a locked compartment when the tailgate is shut. Tie down points could be installed on the top side if desired.

Anyone ever run with one of these? I'm curious how it holds up to unexpected rain. I bought a hardtop because I didn't want so much road noise for daily driving and road trips, but I consequently feel like I just won't have the top off very much because I would need to *know* it was not going to rain.
