Hey, I’m looking to give my new Jeep its second wash this weekend, and I would like to use some type of true automotive wash soap. I want something that will not damage the paint or the plastic fender flares and bumpers. I am just looking to wash the Jeep. I don’t plan to ceramic coat, unless it is very beneficial, and I will also be washing by hand. I have heard that Chemical Guys makes good products, but I’m not sure which specific soap I should get from them. There are a lot of choices. Please share any recommendations of what you use on your Jeeps.

64 oz of Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam Car Wash Soap will do ya just fine. Many car stores stock it, or Amazon will bring it right to your filthy, filthy jeep in your filthy, filthy driveway. Works in a foam cannon, works with a bucket and sponge. Smells nice. Basically does just what you’d expect it to do. It takes me several months to go through 64oz, but YMMV.

Do you have any experience with their Hydrosuds ceramic car wash soap? Would this be better to have some protection on the paint and plastic?

Wait to wash after Black Friday, last BF, I got CG Mr Pink 20% off 😂

After washing, you can use something like a ceramic quick wax.

Before Mr Pink, I used Turtle Wax Hybrid solutions line, the problem is in Canada it's hard to get, and now it's expensive.

TW was great, most of the time between, 6 week washes, I would just power wash for $2 every 2 weeks or so, I still use TW, but the wash I buy CG, because I can't get TW wash in Canada easily.

In the US it's relatively cheap $15 - $20 depending on product.

Get some microfiber towels, Costco usually have 36 for $19 in Canada.
For washing -20 minutes tops for average dirtiness

For Drying - 10 minutes

For Waxing - 15 minutes
https://www.turtlewax.com/products/hybrid-solutions-ceramic-wax-spray-coating-16-fl-oz

Waxing 2 coats if you can, 24 hours apart, last for about 6 months, then apply 1 or 2 coats again.

Late Spring I usually do a coat, then another mid summer, then another early autumn.

Once I did a double coat, but I drive everyday, so two coats 24 hours is kinda difficult.

Watch YouTube reviews and demonstration on usage.

Hydrosuds is pretty good, but any of it will do just fine. I use foam cannon and every 2 months apply the Hydroslick. It's an excellent protectant.

I know that it has a gloss shine to it. Will this affect the plastic?
Hydro Suds is fine on the textured plastics as well as the hardtop. I use in on my Jeep when I hand wash it.

That looks great! So I think I will go with that for my normal wash soap. I like that it adds some protection.

Definitely watch for upcoming holiday sales like BF. That's when you can stock up for the year at great prices and have good quality products.

This is a great soap that leaves no residue, rinses clean and won't strip any waxes or protects. They also have a "Christmas" scent around this time. Nice smell while washing. It does not leave a scent on your vehicle.

This if you want to strip paint surface and have a nice clean start.
https://www.obsessedgarage.com/collections/shampoos-washes/products/decontamination-soap

Use this after you decon wash. Will remove any iron deposits from transport and or road grime.

Then clay bar or better clay sponge/towel so you can rinse it off if you drop it and keep using. This will remove any tree sap, road grime, overspray or just about any other environmental contamination.

Wax it with your preferred wax and then top it off with a spray detailer like P&S Bead Maker or the OG Detail spray. This should last 6 months or more for you. And you can spray it every time you dry after any wash for constant protection. That's what I do. Looks like a mirror and is slick as snot on a black '21 JLUR. Good stuff.

P&S makes great products.

And use this for wheels and tires.

Buy quality rags also not cheap ones. Try The Rag Company. Great products and selection.

Enjoy the process.

Thanks for all the feedback. I decided to pick up a 16 oz bottle of Chemical Guys Mr. Pink, and their Two Face Wheel Cleaner. I’m going to wash the Jeep tomorrow morning and I’ll post some pics with the results.

from experience you can wash your jeep with 99% of car soap out there and be good with it.
Just keep in mind you may at some point have to do a strip / descale wash to get a deep clean.
Detailing, is journey, looking for a good soap is just the start ;)
