Rotten Egg smell = Catalytic Converter
Sweet smell like Maple Syrup = Anti-Freeze leak somewhere in your Heater Core, most likely somewhere in the firewall

How is the A/C working? A rotten egg interior smell can occur when refrigerant leaks.

I haven’t used the AC much as the weather has only just started to warm up again. I can only smell it also when the windows are down, which makes me believe the smell might come from the exhaust or the engine bay

Ever since I've bought my 3.6L JL brand-new, I've always smelled a bit of sulphur from excess fuel burning in the cat, but only if I'm really getting on the throttle while taking a steep hill. The smell is minor and about the same as any other vehicle I've driven on those same steep inclines, just that my Jeep seems to let just about any and every odor sneak in to the cabin.

If you smell it all the time there's probably something wrong, but afaik, if you're going heavy on the accelerator, then a brief whiff of sulphur/rotten egg smell is normal and the cat is working as intended. I'm also guessing that some people's sniffers are more or less sensitive to such smells compared to others.

As others have said, it’s completely normal when getting on it. You might have an o ring or wiring harness that goes through the firewall that’s not seated correctly and the exhaust smell is coming through there. I wouldn’t worry about the smell unless it’s always there.
