I recently removed and upgraded my 7" radio and wish to sell it. I went to my dealer and they refuse to give me the unlock code unless I provide the VIN of the vehicle that it is going into. Does anyone know of another way to obtain it please?

Thanks but they were very clear that they wanted the new owners VIN. The dealer knows me and they are where I bought my Jeep a month ago.

Not debating what your dealer is stating but that would be the opposite of everything I’ve read on this forum. I also sold a 7” for a buddy couple months ago and he called his dealer to get code before we posted on FB marketplace. So not sure if something changed.

My dealer is working on getting my 4 digit code for my 7" so I can sell it as well. They didn't push back but said they changed the process and he said he had to reach out to his part guy on how you get the code. I can update when I hear back but everything I gather you do not need the VIN of the vehicle it's going into but the VIN needs to match the vehicle the radio came out of to get the code.

I guess that all I can do now is to call another dealer and see what happens.
