So while perusing the China app, I ran across these...

Now I'm sure a lot of you noticed this too, those doors look awfully familiar! So I did a quick search and then I realized, they are the DV8 half doors.

So clearly this is just China being China, stealing other people's ideas for themselves.

... But wait, there's another US-based company that also makes the exact same door, ADD.

Can someone explain this one to me? How do three different companies have the exact same door with their name on it? Who's the original door designer?

No clue... but they all look like the perfect accoutrement to an "angry grill"...

China is the original...then these companies just reach out to that manufacturer to slap their branding on it to import to the US and resell.
Yep, very common practice these days. Especially almost anything on Amazon.

People buy crap from Alibaba in bulk, ship to US, stick their own name on it, resell for 3x or 4x the price, and hope that nobody notices.

That's pretty much it.

The flipside to this is a lot of small upstarts (and kickstarter campaign things) will get a factory in china to make stuff for them, and then after a little bit the factory will start making that stuff for anyone else (or themselves) as well.

But... yea next time you see a cool jeep gadget you want, try doing a reverse image search on the image and see if some chinese company is selling it for a fraction of the price lol.

LOL, been driving Jeeps since doors were Optional and the options were a radio, a heater and a top and that was just about it. So driving sands door is normal for me. I have made many 2000+ mile trips with no doors and just a bikini top...yea have sat under an overpass a few times due to rain. To each his own...
