Can’t Clock Window Handles?

Took the Jeep to the dealer for 1st oil change & asked em to clock window handles where I put the tape. They said it can’t be done.. Are they for real?

No. I've had 8 doors with cranks replaced and the positioning of the cranks has been random on the replaced doors. It's fairly easy to do yourself with a window crank removal tool.

They're correct, it can't be done.
Clocking to a specific position requires far more intelligence and common sense than their current techs have. You'd be lucky if they even know what a window crank handle is.

Depends on the shape of the shaft. I’ve seen some that are square, and obviously there’s only 4 possible positions. However, most are splined and have probably 15 or 20 possible positions.

I used a towel when I adjusted mine. I positioned mine so they point up.
I think it's straight up with window fully rolled up and slightly forward with window rolled down.

Used to bang the fuck outta my knee off road otherwise.

Splined on the Jeep, and they use like a slip ring thing that hold them in place.
Remove, place where you want, and smack back on.

Same thing here, being 6'5", my driver side window handle is set in the one position where my knee doesn't bump into it. Every other window handle position is set to match the front driver's door.

I clocked the handles away from the knee on both sides. Many positions to choose from! Dang dealer. Just laziness on them.
